READ PART ONE OF MY SERIES “DEPRESSION, LET’S TALK ABOUT IT: A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS.

Hi friends,

My name is Jem, and I am so thrilled to write as a guest blogger for the With Love By Love website. Today, October 10, 2019, is World Mental Health Day. On this very day last year, my therapist diagnosed me with severe clinical depression and moderate anxiety. I don’t think that receiving my diagnosis on this day last year is a coincidence. I believe that it is a reminder that I am not alone.

A year later, I am in awe of God’s goodness and faithfulness because I believe that I am finally walking in healing. But, my heart breaks for others who are suffering from clinical depression in silence and too afraid to seek clinical help. Healing begins when we are willing to speak up, so I volunteer as tribute, lol.

In honor of World Mental Health Day, I am collaborating with Monique to launch a blog series on depression, called Depression, Let’s Talk About It. We will cover my journey, why God’s love is more significant than depression, and some practical steps you can take towards healing. In parts one and two of this series, I will start by spilling all the tea on my journey with depression.

If you are afraid to seek help, I hope that this series gives you the push that you need to do so. Moreover, I pray that after reading this series; you feel seen, understood, heard, and loved.

Love, Jem
