At the beginning of every new year, lots of Christians embark on the Daniel fast in order to set the tone for the year by limiting their diet to get closer to God. I’m currently on it until the end of February! (BTW, you can do the Daniel fast at any time of the year.)

The Daniel Fast is typically a 21 day fast in which you primarily eat only veggies and fruit. Click here for a complete list on what you can and can’t eat while on the Danie fast.

I know, the fast includes a very limited amount of foods you can consume, but that’s the point. By having a restricted diet you can draw closer to God when you get hungry and he will fill you up in more ways than food ever can. John 6:35 says “Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.‘”

In prior years, I’ve failed miserably on the Daniel fast because I wasn’t prepared. So I wanted to inspire your tastebuds with some Daniel Fast friendly meals to help you avoid chopping on a carrot for dinner or worse, eating the wrong things.

You know me, a diet or a fast shouldn’t kill the excitement in the kitchen. You can and should make food delicious at all times whether you’re eating a salad or a big bowl of fried chicken.
