This post is going to be as quick as it is to make this deliciously In-N-Out inspired vegan burger. I am from Los Angeles, home of some of the best burger joints. That may be a bit biased, but I rep hard for my city! Fatburger and In-N-Out we’re my faves before I gave up meat. However, In-N-Out came out on top. Come on, you know that their secret sauce is everything! ” Can I have a number 1, with extra sauce please.” So yummy!
To be quite honest, I’ve missed scarfing down a good burger these past 6 years. Because although a homemade black bean and sweet potato is amazing, its not the same as a classic burger. I have always been pretty skeptical about faux meat. 1. I stay away from soy at all costs. And 2. Why not just eat the real thing? I am not an anti-meat activist of a vegan. God gave us dominion over animals with a purpose being for food. If I didn’t feel chest pains every time I ate meat, I’d be eating a burger right now!
A good friend of mine recommended Beyond Meat’s Beast Burger to me 3 years ago. I gave it a try despite my skepticism because I trust her judgement. And girl, can I tell you. The beast burger is so good, soy free and meaty in the most vegan way. It is the only pre-made vegan burger that I eat. Well, ate because I have now graduated to their Beyond Burger! The Beyond Burger is so good that it has meat eaters indulging in this burger by choice!
Oh! I love how the Beyond Burger is sold in the meat section at your local grocer. AND when you cook the burger, it “bleeds”. You don’t even need to use any oil to cook it because it secretes it’s own oils just like meat. Talk about a burger experience! I am not going to lie, when I saw the bleeding effect, I sort of freaked out and double checked the packaging. Had to make sure that I didn’t mistakenly pick up real meat. Last month, I grilled the beyond burgers at a BBQ with some secret sauce to pay homage to In-N-Out. Y’all, they were a hit! They we’re flying off the plate as quickly as the ribs. Okay, maybe not as quickly as the ribs but people were eating them! They were using my In-N-Out inspired secret sauce for other food too! I was really happy that they were loving it but at the same time, I was hoping they’d slow down. Hey, I wanted seconds and potentially thirds. Haha.
When I saw the reaction of my family and friends, I knew I had to share this with my blog family. It’s not everyday when people are opting for a plant based burger over a meat burger when they’re both readily available.
This burger isn’t made from scratch but that’s what makes it 10 times better. Sometimes a girl is just hungry and wants to eat a good meal without all the legwork. You can make this In-N-Out inspired vegan burger in less than 10 minutes and carry on with the rest of your day!
