I only want to do God’s work WITH Him.
His name can be on the project, you can even shout His name to the masses but if His Spirit isn’t in it, then is it really His?
The thing about ministry, whether it’s done in front of a church congregation or at your 9-5, you can’t do His work without Him. 1 Corinthians 13 plainly let’s us know that “If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.” Without love, who is Christ, that thing God told you to do is just beautiful empty shell.
I don’t know about y’all but there’s been a time where I’ve found myself too preoccupied with doing “God’s work” that I neglected Him. It’s put me and the people I’ve been assigned to in some real danger. Because even when you’re genuinely trying to do God’s will, you can’t when you’re disconnected from Him. The less amount of time you spend with Him, the more you’re unable to hear His voice. And without being able to hear Him, you can lead people astray without Christ’s proper guidance.
This post is really short, but important. I just came here to encourage that woman who’s been knee deep in God’s work, yet failing to spend time with Him, to connect with your Father. He has new information He wants to share with you. He wants to be the water that hydrates you when you enter dry season. He wants to be your source of strength when you feel too tired to keep moving forward. You can only fulfill His will with Him.
